The stage was like an island, slowly sinking in the middle of the flood. In my 18 years in SBC there was only one time we had to "cancel" the service because the hall was already flooded when we got to the church after braving the typhoon. Yesterday, it "almost" happened again. Well, God is gracious to give us a couple of hours to "offer" our sacrifice-filled worship, at least from the handful of brave souls who made it to the service. The streets surrounding the church were flooded almost to the chest (if you're lying down hehe, joke!). Really, streets, especially Espana and Morayta, were so flooded and unpassable. Well, you can, if you swim :) We had visitors from Canada yesterday. They were blessed to see our "situation" here. And even agreed with us that God wants us to transfer to a better place. They expressed commitment to be partners with us in the ministry. As you might remember, last year while going to the same event, we met an almost fatal vehicular accident inside Clark. We just look back to thank God for His goodness to our family. (read our blog if you haven't yet <a href="http://davidus.multiply.com/journal/item/13/The_Day_God_Protected_Us">http://davidus.multiply.com/journal/item/13/The_Day_God_Protected_Us</a>) Since the wind was so strong that day, no balloon ever made it to the skies. There were hundreds of photographers that Saturday morning. Some of them were at the site as early as 4am. Oh well, there's a lot of other subjects to shoot. Since her first litter which came early this year were very good, we used the same breeding. Puppies should be available for pick-up on week 7or 8 (February 2nd, 2008). In the past, we have gone as far as Mindoro, La Union, Antipolo, Marikina and Zambales among others. This year, it was a wise move to finally minister to our immediate neighborhood. Through partnerships with faithful supporters, medical teams, friends and community leaders, we were able to service more than 400 patients with medical and dental assistance, reading glasses, clothes, snacks and most importantly, we have shared with them God's Word. DPPers Joel Garcia and Bebet Gaudinez were there to document the activity with us and to share goodies with the shelter children. We have another one coming up this January. God is truly good. I visited the site about three weeks ago. (located in Portofina, Alabang - seen along Daang Hari). My! they're moving fast! and they have to! Scheduled to open this December, Fernbrook is destined to be not just a landmark in Alabang but one of the formost wedding reception venues in Asia. Of course i took some souvenir shots. Armed with my NikonD40 and a kit lens only. I'm convinced this camera can handle high contrast shots too. All photos have no post-processing applied. Everything straight from the cam. Reason: For my kids (daw! :)) Anyway, since I didn't bring any camera, I took liberty of using my kids' new camera and tested it around the streets of Tsim Tsa Tsui. ISO 1600 is usable and acceptable, supplied kit lens is versatile although i still prefer my f/2.8 lenses, quite noisy when underexposed (but thats just normal on any camera). I'm just too lazy to pickup and post the EXIF. But i have left some notes on every photo. The government has ordered the clean-up of shanties along the railroad and then relocate the residents to relocation sites. At least this old lady still has her home when this photo was taken. We have a good number of fine and thriving specimens here at home. Latest additions are Four Males and One Female poodle pups brought to this world by Chikkababes last March 18. Pups are now on their 7th week, twice dewormed and vaccinated. Will have to part ways with these adorable pups in a couple of weeks. We have to... in spite of our children's reluctance and sometimes "violent" (hehe) protests.
