A group of Theology students and professors explored the mystery religions and practices looming in the mystical mountains of Banahaw in Quezon Province.

Discoveries, learnings, fellowship and a lot of images we took home after that one day expedition. Here's a link to another album Banahaw: The Shooters and Banahaw: The Team. Kind of snap-shootish tho.

| pano pumunta ng banahaw? we took a private vehicle (Ford Everest) going there. Left QC around 4am meeting time. The ride can only bring you to a certain point, tapos hike na. there's a place where we had to go down a stone trail (stairs) of 260 steep-steps. Mid-way, I was shouting SOS so the others can help me carry my equipment! kapagod! Then, going up naman, super kapagod! hehe |
| davidus wrote on May 8, '07, edited on May 8, '07 wow hindi ba halata na handheld lang? Actually, I braced myself on a big rock for stability. I should have setup the tripod for a smoother silkier water flow. hehe |
| davidus wrote on May 8, '07, edited on May 8, '07 Wow! This is awesome! most of the time, I look at a photograph and IMAGINE where the photographer was when he took the photo. I imagine too how much effort and preparation was made to be able to snap a magnificent sunset like this one.
I always have a compass with me now. I make it a point to ask the locals the place where a good sunset or sunrise occur. I have become a sun-chaser, so to speak.
This is one example, we were on a very high place to capture this. After the sun has set, we went down the mountain and the way was rough and dark. A good photo takes a lot of sacrifice too. |
 | Pastor Dave, mind if I ask how you pumped up the color to have this kind of photo? This set is really wonderful. You have the eyes and the skills!.. TFS |
| cool..nice photo..sit is that jose rizal on the red circle? yap, that's Rizal in there. There's hundred of different sects of Rizalistas and Espiritistas in Banahaw. |

when I was starting in photoshop, the only 3-step workflow that I apply are: Auto Contrast, SATURATION and USM. Today, 95% of the time, I don't even use SATURATION. I'd rather use Curves and Selective color.
RAW also have helped me take control of colors using adjusted White Balance. There's so much combination and possibility. It all boils down to what you want to achieve as a photographer and as an artist in your final image. |

All of your sunset, sunrise and lanscape photos (Shades, Touching, Days end, Canvass, Panoramic and even Purple - the photo you have in your Anvaya Cove, Subic Shoot) I love them. I have just started using RAW and still just doing a lot of experiments. Hope you can lead me the way to getting those vivid colors!.. Thanks

 | Way back in college! I'm a member of our college mountaineering group (AMSOC). I've been to Banahaw twice (up to peak one only) and I have seen (experienced) it but it's quite rare...There's a lot more interesting subject in Banahaw and how i wish i could guide you there but I need training first for me to climb again...hehehe |
